Florida woman dies in Lowndes County crash

LOWNDES COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) – A Florida woman has died after a multi-vehicle crash in Lowndes County, authorities say.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash happened around 1 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 65 near Julian Town Road, about eight miles north of Butler County.

Alisia M. Parker, 45, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, was killed when the Hyundai SUV she was driving was hit by a Nissan SUV. As a result of the impact, Parker’s vehicle then struck a tractor-trailer.

Parker was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman driving the Nissan SUV was injured and taken to a hospital in Montgomery for treatment.

ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the cause of the crash.
