JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County — Community members gathered this week at Richard Ray All American Park for a garden dedication honoring the country’s history ahead of America’s 250th anniversary.

The dedication was held as part of the A250 Daughters of the American Revolution celebration.

During the ceremony, officials unveiled a commemorative garden and an “America 250” bench. City leaders said the garden is meant to recognize patriotism, remembrance and community pride.

Members of Jacksonville City Council, city staff, residents and community leaders attended the event.

Guests also shared remarks about the importance of the tribute and what it means for the local community as the nation prepares to mark 250 years of independence.
