Woman dies while crossing Hialeah street
HIALEAH, Fla. — Surveillance video shows a driver fatally hitting a 61-year-old woman on Monday in Hialeah.
Delia Annet Delgado was on her way to the pharmacy. The driver was making a right turn at East Fourth Avenue and 49th Street.
After running over Delgado, the driver waited for police officers. Hialeah Fire Rescue personnel pronounced Delgado dead at the scene.
“The driver of the vehicle will not be facing any charges, as this was an unfortunate accident,” Lt. Eddie Rodriguez wrote in a statement.
Residents described the intersection as treacherous and have counted 10 accidents there so far this year.
