TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Several Memorial Day services are scheduled throughout the Tampa Bay area in honor of those who gave their lives while serving the United States.

Hillsborough County

The CRISP organization, a Tampa-based non-profit, will hold a Memorial Day Ceremony at MacDill Park, located at 100 N Ashley Dr., at 11 a.m.

Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, SOCOM Command Chaplain, and Army Colonel Christopher Dickey are expected to speak at the event.

The American Legion U.S.S. Tampa Post 5 will hold its 104th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 3810 W. Kennedy Blvd. at 11 a.m. The flag placement begins at 9:30 a.m., during which volunteers will place American flags at the 734 gravestones in remembrance of fallen service members

USSOCOM Director of Intelligence James Blejski and State Representative Susan Valdes are expected to speak at the event.

Pinellas County

The City of Largo’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Military Court of Honor in Largo Central Park, located at 101 Central Park Drive. 

The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is hosting its annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the Bay Pines National Cemetery, located at 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., at 11 a.m.

The City of Gulfport will hold a Memorial Day Commemoration at 2:30 p.m. at Veterans’ Park, located at 5350 31st Avenue S.

The Palm Harbor Memorial Day Service is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at 1750 Curlew Road.

Sarasota County

The City of Sarasota will host the annual Memorial Day Parade in conjunction with the Sarasota Patriotic Observance Committee. The parade is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Main Street from Orange Avenue to U.S. 41.

The following closures will be in effect from 4 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:

Main Street from Links Ave. to Gulfstream Avenue

Osprey Avenue from Fruitville to Ringling Boulevard

Gulfstream Avenue from Cocoanut Avenue to McAnsh Square

Central Avenue from Main Street to First Street

Intersection of Pineapple Avenue, Central Avenue and Main Street

The following closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:

Links Avenue from 2nd Street to Ringling Boulevard

Goodrich Avenue from Main Street to 2nd Street

Adelia Avenue from Main Street to 2nd Street

Orange Avenue from State Street to 2nd Street

Lemon Avenue from Main Street to 2nd Street or First Street

Mira Mar Court from Main Street to McAnsh Square

South Palm Avenue at the intersection with Main Street

Manatee County

The Manatee County Veterans Council will host the “Remembering Our Fallen” ceremony at 9 a.m. It will be located at Donald L. Courtney Veterans Park, 176 Waterfront Drive in Bradenton.

Sumter County

There will be a Memorial Day Ceremony at the Florida National Cemetery located at 6502 SW 102nd Ave. in Bushnell at 11 a.m.

Florida Department of Veterans Affairs (FDVA) Deputy Executive Director Colonel-Ret. Darryl “DJ” Reyes is expected to speak at the event.

To park, enter the main gate via County Road 476B, Exit 309 off 1-75.
