Located on Florida’s Atlantic coastline, KFLL serves as one of South Florida’s busiest airports and acts as a major gateway for both domestic and Caribbean operations. The airport has grown significantly in recent years, becoming a key hub for low-cost and leisure travel across the region, while also seeing a steady mix of international traffic and cargo activity.
The scenery has been developed exclusively for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and features a fully updated airport layout based on recent real-world references. MK Studios says the release focuses heavily on atmosphere and realism, with detailed terminal modelling, custom ground textures, realistic lighting systems, and accurate apron layouts throughout the airport environment.
Additional features include animated jetways, detailed taxiway signage and stand markings, alongside seamless blending with the surrounding photogrammetry and coastal terrain. As with previous MK Studios releases, the developer has also placed emphasis on maintaining solid performance while preserving high visual fidelity.
The release follows earlier teasers from MK Studios, where the team confirmed that Fort Lauderdale formed part of a wider expansion into the Florida region, with Miami International Airport also currently in active development.
