JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County — A Jacksonville man is facing multiple charges after warrants state he threatened a woman with a firearm while children were inside a home.
According to warrants, 51-year-old Marlyn Sample was arrested Sunday, May 24, by the Jacksonville Police Department.
Sample is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, misdemeanor crime of domestic violence and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Warrants state Sample, a convicted felon, was allegedly in possession of a firearm after a 2010 conviction for assault by strangulation.

Arrest records further allege Sample threatened to use a deadly weapon against a woman known to him.
Warrants state he made remarks about killing her while walking around the home with a gun in his right hand.
Authorities said two children, an 11-month-old and a 3-year-old, were inside the home at the time.
Warrants also state Sample “caused, encouraged and aided” the children to be in a place where they could be adjudicated delinquent.
Sample was taken to the Onslow County Jail, where he remains without bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday, May 26.
