CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK) — The Cape Coral Fire Department has announced the passing of retired Fire Chief Donald Cochran.
The fire department formally announced Cochran’s passing through its social media accounts on Tuesday.
In the social media posting, the fire department reflected on Cochran’s career as fire chief, starting with his initial appointment in 1990. He was appointed chief in 2014, making Cochran the first Cape Coral firefighter to rise through the ranks to lead the department, according to the social media post.
Cochran then retired in 2018 after 28 years of service to the fire department and the Cape Coral community.
The post concluded with condolences to Chief Cochran’s family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of serving alongside him.
It remains unclear how Cochran passed.
