CLARENDON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS/Gray News) – A woman died after being hit by a loose umbrella while eating at a restaurant Saturday.
According to the Clarendon County coroner, the umbrella hit 56-year-old Dana Weinger in the neck, severing her carotid artery. She died at the scene.
Officials said the umbrella came loose during high winds Saturday night.
In a Facebook post, Driftwood Grill wrote, “Our hearts are with the family, friends, and loved ones affected by the tragic incident.”
