May 26, 2026 – The Underground Book Fair will bring local writers, artists and small businesses to Jack Kerouac’s former St. Petersburg home Saturday, May 30, from noon to 4 p.m. at 5169 10th Ave. N. Hosted with Wordier Than Thou, the event will feature vendors throughout the Disston Heights house, including pop-up shops in each bedroom, and visitors can explore rooms with original details and items tied to Kerouac, who lived there from 1967 until his death in 1969. A $5 suggested donation will be collected at the door to support the nonprofit preserving the home.
