TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) – Tampa police are investigating the deaths of a man and woman found in two related incidents early Monday.
Officers were called at about 1:20 a.m. to the 6900 block of North Central Avenue after receiving reports of an idling vehicle in the middle of the road. When officers arrived, they found an adult man dead inside the vehicle, police said.
The man was the only person inside the vehicle. Police said he died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Several hours later, at 6:23 a.m., Tampa police were called to a home in the 200 block of East Patterson Street for a report of an unresponsive adult woman.

Officers found smoke and structural damage inside the home, indicating a fire had recently happened, according to police. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her official cause of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
Police said both investigations remain in the early stages. Detectives have determined the deaths were not random, and investigators confirmed the man and woman knew each other.
The exact nature of their relationship has not been released. Investigators are still working to determine what led up to both deaths.
