CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK)—Cape Coral Parkway is a road people know by routine—the lights, the backups, the construction and the places they need to reach.
Now the city wants those daily experiences to help shape a 20-year plan for what comes next. This week, the city is asking people to help steer the future of the parkway with an eight-question survey.
The city said this is part of a 20-year plan for the parkway where there will be short-term, medium-term and long-term goals more than 10 years out. Not everyone sees the parkway the same way.
“Cars everywhere all the time, it’s backed up bumper to bumper,” Brooke said. “And we just saw an accident the other day, nobody’s paying attention.”
Aaron Alfred rides his bike near Cape Coral Parkway almost every day. While reviewing the survey, he shared his positive experiences.
“I really have no concerns,” Alfred said. “Like, the traffic is pretty good, it’s not congested.”
The city said they will keep the survey open until June 30. Right now, the future of Cape Coral Parkway starts with answering eight questions from the people driving through day after day.
