JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County — A Jacksonville man is behind bars after police say he was caught with a large amount of fentanyl and a concealed firearm.
According to court records, 28-year-old Robert Banks was arrested Monday, May 26, by the Jacksonville Police Department. He’s now facing two felony counts of trafficking fentanyl, along with a charge of carrying a concealed gun.
Records state Banks allegedly possessed 28 grams or more of fentanyl. Authorities also say he was carrying a black Glock 43 handgun equipped with an Aimpoint optic and Streamlight tactical illuminator while off his own property.
Banks was taken to the Onslow County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
