The developer behind the iconic $1 billion makeover of Pier Sixty-Six has unveiled plans that will transform Fort Lauderdale’s Southeast 17th Street as we know it.
Tavistock’s latest vision calls for four mixed-use towers with a total of 339 residences. Each tower will stand 270 feet high.
One building will sit on the north side of 17th Street and three on the south side.
Shops and restaurants will be on the first floor with office space on the second level and structured parking in every building.
Building A on the north side will have 101 residences. On the south side, Building B will have 90 residences; Building C will have 75; and Building D will have 73.
The towers and a new waterfront promenade have been designed to create a more connected, walkable experience to complement the long-awaited reopening of Pier Sixty-Six and a continued evolution of the 17th Street corridor, Tavistock officials say.
Pier Sixty-Six, a historic landmark perched on the north side of Southeast 17th Street, reopened in January 2025 after undergoing an extensive redesign overseen by Orlando-based Tavistock.
The reborn landmark now features 325 modern rooms and suites; a dozen restaurants, each with their own cuisine and theme; three swimming pools; a deluxe spa; a marina with 164 slips for superyachts up to 400 feet long; and 88 high-end private residences with a starting price approaching $4 million.
“When the reimagining of Pier Sixty-Six was first announced in 2018, we shared a thoughtful vision for a multi-phase project encompassing both the north and south sides of 17th Street Causeway,” said Jessi Blakley, vice president of Tavistock U.S. “With the celebration of the completion of Phase 1, Tavistock is excited to work with the city of Fort Lauderdale and the community to bring the entire vision for the property to life with the announcement of Phase II.”
The entire project encompasses 8 acres — 6.6 acres on the south side and 1.4 acres on the north.

Tavistock has kept the needs of the neighborhood in mind while planning this next phase, Blakley said.
“Phase II reflects not only residential but significant community assets that were requested by the neighbors such as a community grocer, waterfront shops and restaurants and the completion of the marina promenade,” Blakley said. “We remain committed to being a good neighbor and community partner and look forward to the ultimate completion of bringing Pier Sixty-Six back to its original glory.”
Under the latest plans, the development on the south side of 17th Street will expand waterfront access while adding enhanced marina facilities, a boutique grocery store, retail shops and dining options.
The project’s site plan still needs commission approval, but that is likely a year away.
