JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County — Sturgeon City is inviting community members to take part in its Clean-Up Day event later this month.
The event will be held Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Sturgeon City Environmental Education Center, located at 50 Court Street in Jacksonville.
Organizers say the clean-up is open to everyone and will take place rain or shine.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves and a reusable water bottle.
The event is also a way for high school students to earn community service hours.
Registration is not required, but organizers say signing up ahead of time helps them plan for supplies.
Those interested can register at SturgeonCity.org/clean-up-day.
