A Jacksonville 15-year-old was arrested by police after they say he attempted to sexually assault two separate women on the Southside.
Police were called to Touchton Park on April 29 after a woman reported being grabbed by a stranger while on the walking path. The suspect appeared to have simulated holding a gun to her back and tried to take her into the woods, but she managed to escape, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Although the suspect was gone by the time police arrived, the sheriff’s office says a person who witnessed the initial incident called police two days later to report seeing him again on Touchton Road. They led police to the teenager, and he was taken into custody.

We are not naming the suspect due to his age, as it remains unclear if he will be charged as an adult.
This isn’t the only incident he is accused of. While investigating at the nearby apartment complex where the teen lived, police were shown video of what appeared to be another attempted sexual battery at the neighborhood pool on April 3 and connected him to the crime.
The suspect faces three felony charges: two counts of attempted sexual battery and one count of attempted kidnapping.
