Timeline: Strong storms possible for parts of Central Florida

News 6 Weather Aware Day for Tuesday

ORLANDO, Fla. – The News 6 Weather Team has declared Tuesday a Weather Aware Day for the possibility of a few strong storms. The highest chance for strong storms will be on the eastern half of Central Florida.

A Weather Aware Day means you should pay a little closer attention to the weather as it could impact your plans.

Tuesday should start dry with a few storms developing along/around I-75 after 1-2 p.m.

Future radar

Storms will increase in coverage as they push east, in between I-4 and the Atlantic coast.

6 p.m. Tuesday

The main severe threat should range from 2 – 7 p.m.

10 p.m.

Heavy rain may linger well into Tuesday night.

The main threats with any storm that develops will be isolated damaging wind gusts and small hail. Torrential rain and frequent lightning will accompany any storm that develops.

Rain chances gradually taper off through the week.
