The LGBTQ+ mental health crisis is worsening among young people in the U.S., according to a 2025 Trevor Project study.

It’s not hard to understand why in a state where rainbow crosswalks are banned, DEI is being erased from anything Republicans can get their hands on and conversation therapy is still legal—not to mention the White House equating trans allyship with terrorism.

But there are still ways to protect and care for LGBTQ+ people.

This 90-minute suicide prevention class is for queer folks and allies alike to help build supportive, inclusive and affirming environments at home, school and work. American Foundation for Suicide Prevention experts will teach participants how to recognize suicide risk factors, warning signs and safeguards as well as how to start a conversation with someone they’re concerned about.
