Orange County Supervisor of Elections Karen Castor Dentel and community partners including Hispanic Federation encouraged early voting – and Orlando voters have the chance to do so right now.
Early voting for the City of Orlando municipal elections in District 1, 3 and 5 runs until November 2nd at the Orange County Supervisor of Elections office at 119 W Kaley St., Orlando, Florida. The Supervisor of Elections and community groups said local elections determine city leadership and decisions that civic engagement and voter participation are vital to the health of local democracy.
As of publication, only 665 voters have voted early in the current City of Orlando elections. Including vote-by-mail ballots, only 6% have voted so far and Election Day is November 4th.
Early voting is open Saturday from 9am to 3pm, and Sunday from 11am to 3pm. Polls will be open on Tuesday, November 4th from 7am to 7pm.
“We’re celebrating National Vote Early Day — and what a powerful day to celebrate democracy in action,” said Eli Garcia, Director for Community Outreach and Engagement, Hispanic Federation. “We are here to remind our community that local elections matter. These elections shape the places where we live, work, and raise our families. They determine how our streets are cared for, how our schools are funded, and how our neighborhoods grow.”
In celebration of National Vote Early Day, the Orange County Supervisor of Elections hosted a press event at Orlando City Hall to highlight the importance of voting in local races and to encourage eligible voters to cast their ballots early in the 2025 City of Orlando Municipal Election.
Vote Early Day is a national civic holiday that brings together nonprofits, businesses, media companies, and election officials to ensure every voter knows how, where, and when to vote early. Local civic organizations, including All Voting is Local, Hispanic Federation, Central Florida Urban League, and Equal Ground Education Fund, joined the event to uplift community voices and reinforce that every vote counts, especially in local elections that shape our daily lives.
Participants included Orange County Supervisor of Elections Karen Castor Dentel, President & CEO of Central Florida Urban League Elizabeth Grace, Senior Campaign Manager of All Voting is Local Ricardo Negron-Almodóvar, Director for Community Outreach and Engagement of Hispanic Federation Eli Garcia, and State Coalition Director of Equal Ground Education Fund Pastor Marcus McCoy Jr.
