A Pinellas Park man is dead after a vehicle crashed into his motorcycle late Tuesday night, police say.

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. — A 22-year-old motorcyclist is dead after a crash in St. Pete Tuesday night.

St. Pete police say the crash happened shortly before 10 p.m. at the intersection of Tyrone Boulevard and 21st Avenue North where a Ford F-150 was driving eastbound while a gray Suzuki was driving southbound.

The driver of a Ford F150 attempted to turn left onto Tyrone Boulevard and failed to yield to the motorcyclist, causing the crash, officers say.

The motorcyclist, identified as Xavier Joshua Strunk of Pinellas Park, was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police say the Ford driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing.
