TAMPA, Fla. — A Tampa entrepreneur is excited to be filling an order of American-made keepsakes for the White House.
“It’s beyond any entrepreneur’s dream. Not only are we doing business with the White House, but that this will go to some important leader in the world,” said Karen Post, Founder of American Prosperity Project.
Post’s American Prosperity Keepsake Collection includes charms, tassels, clothing, gifts and all things made in the USA to help celebrate America’s 250th birthday.
“This may end up in another country, to just see our craftsmanship and our messaging and how proud we are of our country,” said Post as she and her mother, Millie, worked to pack up items to send to Washington, D.C.
“I just emailed the White House and said the order is on its way and we’re so excited,” said Post.
“The department that bought from us is in charge of doing special gifts for dignitaries, so this may be part of a bigger package,” said Post.
The entrepreneur says she’s also filling orders from the White House Historical Association and the Pentagon gift shop.
Post’s collection also includes a prosperity pillow.
“In other countries, they were usually made of luxury fabrics, and people believed that if you slept on or near this pillow wealth and good fortune world follow you,” said Post, who said she re-imagined the message for an American prosperity pillow.
“Prosperity is not about luck, but it’s about working hard, having a plan, knowing that you may fall off the horse, and you gotta get back on it and hit bumps because Americans are resilient,” said Post.
“Every pillow has the 250 charm and is topped off with U.S. currency that’s retired from the U.S. mint, which is just kind of a reminder that prosperity is in your reach,” said Post who adds she is excited to share her collection with the country and the world.
“Sharing our pride in our American way of life,” said Millie.
The mother and daughter say they are proud to be passing along prosperity, while celebrating patriotism.
Post says a portion of sales is contributed to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which is committed to supporting fallen first responder families, ending veteran homelessness and helping Americans to never forget September 11.
