Delivery driver saves resident from house fire on Southwest 12th Place in Cape Coral
CAPE CORAL, Fla. —
A delivery driver rescued a person inside a home from a fire on Southwest 12th Place in Cape Coral on Wednesday.
According to the Cape Coral Fire Department, crews arrived just after 6 p.m. to find the resident outside the home after the driver, Adam Cannon, noticed smoke, heard someone calling for help and rushed in to save the person.
Cannon was presented with a Community Recognition Coin for helping the resident.
Crews said they extinguished the fire, but a dog and a cat inside the home died.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
