Cape Coral City Council on June 3 awarded VisualScape Inc. a contract for the Embers Parkway Access Management and Median Beautification Project. The project, on Embers Parkway between SW 15th Place and Pine Island Road, includes installing median curbing, underground irrigation infrastructure and landscape enhancements. City staff picked VisualScape after reviewing bids from four firms, including Ajax Paving Industries of Florida LLC, Pavement Maintenance LLC and Bateman Contracting LLP. The contract price of $2,065,654, paid through the city’s Transportation Capital Projects fund, includes a 5% contingency of $98,364 to account for unforeseen conditions. The work is expected to be largely complete in about six months.
