Rotary Club of Jacksonville is seeking participants for its annual Fourth of July parade.
The parade, which will be July 4, will have the theme “Celebrating Freedom, Service and Impact,” according to the club.
The theme honors those “who willingly unite to build strong connections within our local and regional communities, creating a significant, positive, and lasting impact,” according to the club.
Rabbi Rob and Lauren Thomas will serve as parade marshals.
“Please join us in celebrating all those who willingly support and engage in local and regional community service,” Rotarian Joan McQuillan said. “Their efforts to network and collaborate are creating opportunities and positively impacting our community.”
The parade will step off from Morgan County Fairgrounds and proceed along Grand Avenue before heading east on West State Street. It will travel around the downtown square and exit onto North Main Street before ending at Douglas Avenue.
Day-of registration will be from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. at the fairgrounds’ southwest gate at South Westgate Avenue and Horsebarn Road. Lineup will be along Grandstand Road on the fairgrounds. Floats and long vehicles must arrive by 9 a.m.
One person representing each parade entry must check in to receive a lineup number and any last-minute details. All vehicles in multi-vehicle entries must check in together.
Those who haven’t pre-registered can’t be guaranteed a place in the parade.
Vehicles and drivers must be properly insured and drivers must be at least 25 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
