FORT PIERCE – An 18-year-old Fort Pierce man remains behind bars as of June 5 for the shooting of a 17-year-old girl on June 2.
On June 2, Fort Pierce Police officers responded to a shooting in the 500 block of North 19th Street where a 17-year-old girl was suffering from a gunshot wound.
She was taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, according to a Fort Pierce Police Facebook posting.
Officers, K9 units and detectives worked for several hours to identify and apprehend the suspect, according to the Facebook posting.
With the aid of witnesses, officers were able to local a suspect, Jah’shaun Lebron Crosby, 18, and arrest him for attempted murder.
Crosby is in the St. Lucie County Jail as of June 5 on a $500,000 bond for attempted murder, according to jail records.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
