June 5, 2026 – The St. Petersburg City Council Thursday deferred a vote on a new contract with Pier Events LLC, which has overseen event promotions for the St. Pete Pier since it opened in 2020. Under the agreement, the company’s annual fees would increase by more than 100%. The deferment will give the City more time to negotiate.
