PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — Port St. Lucie’s DIY crowd has a new playground — a massive Lowe’s is now open in the fast-growing Tradition community.

At 9 a.m. Friday, the city welcomed the home improvement retailer to its growing Tradition area. The store, located at 13845 SW Village Parkway, features 94,000 square feet of retail space and 30,000 square feet of outdoor garden space.

The new store features an updated layout, including redesigned kitchen and appliance showrooms, as well as expanded selections of flooring, kitchen and bath products, appliances, workwear, and pet supplies.

During the store’s grand opening weekend, which runs Friday through Sunday, shoppers can take advantage of exclusive in-store promotions. MyLowe’s Rewards members can earn five times the points on eligible in-store purchases.

On Friday, the first 200 MyLowe’s Rewards members received a free Lowe’s bucket, a Big Blue plush toy, and a coupon for 15% off an eligible in-store purchase, with a maximum savings of $200.

Visitors can also enjoy product demonstrations and giveaways from more than 25 vendors, as well as appearances by Lowe’s mascot, Big Blue, on Friday. Free Kids Club workshop kits are available while supplies last, and new workshop participants can receive aprons, safety goggles, and the opportunity to earn builder badges. Registration for Kids Club events is available in-store and online.

Free food is being offered on Friday and Saturday while supplies last.
