TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – More than a thousand people turned out for the 21st annual Tomato Feastival in Tallahassee to help support local farms.
Katie Harris, farmer and co-founder of the Red Hills Small Farm Alliance, said it’s a great way to support your community.
“By shopping with these farmers, you’re not only supporting a small business – your neighbor – you’re also feeding your neighbors, and you’re keeping money right here in the community,” Katie Harris said.

Red Hills Small Farm Alliance is a nonprofit working to support local farmers through events like the Tomato Feastival.
“We want to show you what we can produce, so we have a small farmer’s market here,” Harris said. “We’ve got different people from the community that are not directly related to farming but are our allies and our colleagues.”
The event also included a tomato contest, live music, local beer, and tomato sandwiches.
