Miami drivers are getting some welcome relief at the pump as summer travel season begins, with the average price of regular gasoline dropping 23.3 cents per gallon over the last week.
The average price in Miami is now $3.91 per gallon, falling below the $4 mark for the first time in weeks. Prices are 57.8 cents per gallon lower than a month ago but remain 86.4 cents higher than a year ago.
According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Miami was priced at $3.45 per gallon on Sunday. On Key Biscayne, both gas stations remained at $5.49 per gallon, making them the most expensive stations in the Miami area.
Nationally, the average price of gasoline fell 17.9 cents per gallon over the last week, averaging $4.09 per gallon to start the workweek.
“Average gasoline prices declined in virtually every state over the last week as oil prices continued to fall, with crude approaching $90 per barrel and refiners ramping up output following seasonal maintenance,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
