JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) –Jacksonville Police Chief Jarad Phelps has been selected by the City of Boca Raton to be it’s next Chief of Police, according to a press release from the city.
The City extended a conditional offer of employment to Phelps after a national recruitment process that included 105 applications for the positions.
Phelps has more than 30 years of law enforcement leadership experience, including service in Virgina and North Carolina.
“I am extremely honored to have been selected as the next Chief of Police for the City of Boca Raton,” Phelps said. “I look forward to joining the City team, getting to know the community and the Police Services Department, and working together to serve the residents of Boca Raton.”
The conditional offer is contingent upon the successful completion of the City’s pre-employment process. Additional details about Phelps’ start date and formal introduction to the community will be announced at a later date.
