June 9, 2026 – Tampa Police Department Chief Lee Bercaw submitted a resignation letter Tuesday and will retire from his position effective Aug. 6. Bercaw, who has served over 30 years on the force, will become an associate professor of instruction at the University of South Florida’s College of Behavioral and Community Services (Department of Criminology).
