One of Universal’s most popular rides has been closed since the beginning of the year, and there’s still a long way to go.

Jurassic Park at Universal Orlando

Jurassic Park River Adventure at Islands of Adventure in Universal Orlando has been closed since January 5th, and the refurbishment isn’t expected to finish until November 19th. During this construction period, we haven’t gotten to see much other than walls in front of the attraction. Well, now we’ve got a look at what’s going on behind the scenes!

Thanks to @bioreconstruct on X (formerly known as Twitter), we have aerial photos that give us a great view of the work being done on the ride. We can finally get a peek at what’s going on past the walls.

Now that we’re about halfway through the construction timeline, we’re curious as to how much work has been done. For starters, we got a close look at the roofing progress at the entrance of the ride. You can see this from behind the walls, but this close-up shot gives us a better look.

Going way past the construction walls, take a look at this aerial photo of scaffolding at the paddock in the Jurassic Park River Adventure refurbishment.

There’s some more footage of the new wall construction happening over at the paddock area of the ride. You can see how high the walls are, and the scaffolding goes up all the way.

From the looks of it, this obviously is a pretty large part of the construction process.

It’s really cool to get a new angle and look at the construction that’s going on. We can’t be the only ones who are realizing how big an attraction this truly is. Look at all the area!

In one of the posts, @bioreconstruct noted that you can see the Ultrasaurus mechanical neck recently returned.

You can also see that a boat has recently returned. The boats for the ride had been wrapped in plastic and had been in storage near Epic Universe.

We know November is quite a ways away, but clearly there’s been a TON of work done on the attraction since the beginning of the year. We’ll have to enjoy the rest of Universal while we wait for this fan favorite ride to return. We’re always on top of everything happening at Universal, so make sure to follow us at AllEars for more.
