Jacksonville Memorial Hospital’s efforts to promote bicycle use and safety are getting attention.
The group is a grassroots movement “to create safer roads, stronger communities, and a Bicycle Friendly America for everyone.”
Jacksonville Memorial has provided covered bicycle racks for visitors and employees and treated workers who bike to work with a free meal during National Bike Month in May. It also has promoted bicycle safety in the community through such things as bike rodeos.
“Promoting healthy lifestyles and safe riding throughout the community continues to be a priority,” community health consultant Claire Peak said. “We appreciate our colleagues at JMH who strive to create a more bike-friendly community.”
