• I live in a quiet area about a mile from a major road. The only thing I ever hear inside my house is the sound of loud cars. I just want all you loud-car drivers to know that your vehicle sounds like a motorized whoopie cushion. Please find another way to get attention that doesn’t affect others.
• On John Young Parkway approaching Sand Lake Road at 4 p.m. on a Friday afternoon, I witnessed a driverless Waymo car use all three lanes to complete a U-turn. Even Orlando drivers can execute that maneuver with more precision than these AI hazards. Get them off our roads now.
• The ongoing, monthslong construction of the hospital next to Orwin Manor is ridiculous! Sunday morning at 6 a.m., continuous beeping of machines so nobody can enjoy a morning coffee outside. Birds? Solitude? Relaxation on a day off? Nope! Worst. Neighbor. Ever.
• Who is the TV sports network genius who sold the National Hockey League on OK’ing electronic moving ads on the boards while you’re trying to watch a 3-inch puck?
The flip side
• Thank you for the 56-page publication inserted in the Sunday edition of the newspaper commemorating the 150 years of the Orlando Sentinel. My family has lived in Orlando since 1962. It was so interesting to learn how this newspaper started as the Orange County Reporter, became The Orlando Star and then the Sentinel Star. We enjoyed looking at photos and events from 1876.
