Downpours expected through the weekend.
ORLANDO, Fla. – The sea breeze pattern is back in full force across Central Florida, helping to spark up showers and thunderstorms across the area this afternoon. These showers will continue to wind down after sunset as the atmosphere losing the energy from the sun, cutting off these storms’ life support. Expect mostly dry conditions after 9pm tonight with just passing clouds in our skies overnight. It will be humid with lows bottoming out in the mid-upper 70s.
Scattered sea breeze storms expected Thursday afternoon.
Our Thursday will feature a similar story as the east and west coast sea breezes develop and spark storms across the area. Expect these storms to begin firing up around lunchtime and linger through the evening drive. Our steering flow will be very light out of the west, meaning these storms will be nearly stationary. Flood advisories are not out of the question Thursday afternoon. Highs will be in the low 90s with heat indices pushing 100ºF.
A moisture surge in the Gulf of Mexico helps raise moisture in Central Florida.
We keep this pattern into the upcoming weekend with slightly higher coverage as we get a bump in available moisture to help fire off these storms.
