TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Honduran man was sentenced in connection to child exploitation crimes in Tallahassee, according to the Northern District of Florida’s U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Israel Portillo was found guilty of attempting to entice a minor in unlawful sexual activity and traveling with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct.
Portillo was arrested as part of Operation Rabbit Hole, an undercover operation conducted by multiple law enforcement agencies in April 2025.

Trial testimony revealed that Portillo began interacting with an undercover law enforcement officer, who was posing as a 14-year-old on a dating website.
Over a two-week period, Portillo had sexually explicit conversations and arranged to travel from his home in Alabama to Tallahassee to meet the child for sex, where he was ultimately arrested.
Portillo was sentenced to 121 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release. He will also have to register as a sex offender.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office identified Portillo as an illegal immigrant. Following his federal prison sentence, he will be held for deportation proceedings, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
