All of SW Florida has been plagued by nightmare traffic scenarios, from the beaches to inland locations. This logjam of vehicles is especially noticeable during the tourist and snowbird season. Cape Coral’s traffic stress is a topic residents have strong opinions about and we are sharing them in this special series.

Cape Coral traffic nightmare: Santa Barabars Boulevard

Cape resident Sally Sartain Jane emailed and she didn’t hold back.

Sally wanted to let us know her traffic nightmare, which is all about Santa Barbara Boulevard. This is her opinion these are traffic hotspots:

IMHO Santa Barbara Boulevard is a nightmare from one end to the other because some young people think it’s a drag strip.

Others seem to have left their turn signals at the FL-GA line.

A few believe that guzzling gas to get to the next stop light even though the lights are calibrated makes sense, and there are a few young folks who DARE you to hit them on their bikes and e-bikes.

Also there are some residents who park on the median strips at the south end that blocks some views and eliminates spaces in which to dodge the speeders.
