POLICE SAY THE DRIVER HIT HIM WHILE HE WAS RIDING A MINIBIKE ON WEST BLUE HERON BOULEVARD YESTERDAY. RIVIERA BEACH FIRE RESCUE BROUGHT HIM TO SAINT MARY’S MEDICAL CENTER, WHERE HE LATER DIED. THE PALM BEACH COUNTY MEDICAL EXAMINER’S OFFICE IS NOW LOOKING INTO THE CAUSE OF DEATH, AND OFFICIALS SAY THE DRIVER IS NOT FACING CHARGES. MORE THAN TWO DOZEN FLORIDIANS ARE SAFE AND HOME RIGHT NOW AFTER BEING EVACUATED FROM JAMAICA. GOVERNOR RON DESANTIS SAYS THE FLORIDA DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT STARTED EFFORTS FOLLOWING THE DESTRUCTION FROM HURRICANE MELISSA. THIS PROPOSAL WOULD CREATE A NEW DIVISION TO EMPLOY ONE MANAGER, THREE FULL TIME, AND TWO PART TIME RANGERS IN TOTAL FOR STAFF AND RESOURCES, IT’S PROJECTED TO COST CLOSE TO $420,000, AND CITY COMMISSIONERS WILL CONSIDER THIS PROGRAM AT A MEETING THIS WEEK. Port St. Lucie Police is investigating after a body was discovered on I-95.According to Port St. Lucie Police a 23-year-old woman appeared to voluntarily jump from a moving vehicle at the time of the incident.Florida Highway Patrol and Port St. Lucie Police witnessed the woman’s body near I-95 and Gatlin Blvd.Police say the death was not caused by a traffic related accident, nor were there any signs of foul play.Detectives await autopsy and toxicology reports.The investigation is still active.
