Florida’s candidate qualifying came to an end at noon Friday, including Florida’s new 28 Congressional districts.In May, Gov. The other Democrats are Victoria Doyle and Mark Piper.Frankel has served six years in the 22nd after four years in the 21st.Her new district is similar to her current one with residents in the western portion of the county remaining in the 23nd.25th DistrictMoskowitz, a Parkland resident, will seek re-election in the redrawn 25th Congressional District that includes Broward and Palm Beach County. He served four years in the 23rd District. There are 10 candidates in District 25, with Oliver Larkin the only other Democrat.Former Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer will run in the Republican Primary in the 25th District, which stretches along the coast from Palm Beach County to Miami-Dade County. President Donald Trump won the district in 2024. There are two Republicans running in the district.20th DistrictWasserman Schultz is running in District 20 after her District 25 was redrawn to include parts of eastern Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties, and has a Republican tilt.The new 20th District was changed in redistricting to only include Broward County residents and not Palm Beach County. The district remains majority Black.The 20th District is vacant after Democrat Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick resigned from Congress on April 21. She was found guilty of 25 House ethics violations, including accepting improper campaign contributions and mixing campaign and personal funds. Cherfilus-McCormick is running again in the district.Wasserman Schultz has been criticized for running in the majority-Black district.”I have spent my whole adult life fighting for Broward County, and I want to continue to make life more affordable for the families in CD20 who are stretched to the breaking point by the Trump MAGA agenda,” she said. District 20 includes 12 candidates, with five Democrats. Besides Cherfilus-McCormick and Wasserman Schultz, qualified are Luther “Uncle Like” Campbell, Dale Holness and Elijah Manley. The four Black candidates had considered giving voters few choices against Wasserman Schultz.District 22District 22, which is Frankel’s former district, sprawls roughly 80 miles from inland Palm Beach and Broward communities to rural Hendry County and into Collier County along the Gulf of Mexico.This District, which tilts Republican, has 10 candidates — eight Republicans and two Democrats.Democratic congressional candidate Pia Dandiya said she will run in the 22nd District after planning to challenge incumbent U.S. Rep. Brian Mast, a Stuart Republican, in the 21st District. She is a former public school math teacher and has worked in federal government.Four Republican members of Florida’s Congressional Delegation — Aaron Bean, Neal Dunn, Randy Fine and Jimmy Patronis — are endorsing Belinda Keiser in her race for Florida’s 22nd Congressional District.Keiser serves as the vice chancellor of Community Relations and Student Advancement at private Keiser University. Sarah Baxter, the mayor of Palm Beach County, earlier this week announced plans to run in the district but decided Thursday to remain as a county commissioner at the urging of President Donald Trump.District 21Mast was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2016. In the district, there are seven candidates, including two Republicans.Indian River County was in the 21st District and instead will be served by the 9th Congressional District, which is now represented by Democrat Darren Soto, who lives in Orlando. The new district tilts more Republican and has nine candidates, with Soto the lone Democrat.District 24Long-time U.S. House member Frederica Wilson says she will not seek reelection in the 24th District, one of two Black-majority districts in South Florida.For 15 years, Wilson, 83, has represented District 24, which encompasses parts of northern Miami-Dade County and southern Broward County.Dr. Rudolph Moise has qualified to run in the Democratic primary for the seat, two days after saying he dropped out of the race in District 20, the other Black-majority district.The 10 candidates include seven Democrats and one Republican.Other districtsTwo Republicans in Miami-Dade County — Mario Díaz-Balart and María Elvira Salazar — are running again.Diaz-Balart is running in the 26th District, which has five candidates, including three Democrats with the incumbent the lone Republican.Salazar is seeking the seat in the 27th District, which includes five candidates — two Republicans and three Democrats.The other Florida Democrats in the U.S. House are: Maxwell Frost in the Orlando area (District 10) and Kathy Castor in the Tampa Bay region (District 14).The 14th District leans Republican. Frost is not facing Democratic or Republican opposition. Florida Senate
The new 28 U.S. House districts in Florida
23rd District
