JACKSONVILLE, Texas (KLTV) – a Jacksonville police officer was injured in a shooting Sunday evening.
According to the Jacksonville Police Department, around 4:41 p.m. Sunday evening, a JPD officer was shot during an encounter with a suspect.
According to the JPD, the suspect has been identified as Bobby Michael Dennis, a black male who was last seen wearing all black.
The JPD advises all residents in the areas of the 1100 block of Churchill Street and Benson Memorial to remain inside, lock all doors, and stay vigilant as Dennis remains at large.
Dennis is considered to be armed and dangerous.
JPD asks the public to avoid the area while officers continue to search for the suspect.
