Orlando International Airport (MCO) can be a little confusing for those who are flying in and/or out of it for the first time. It’s a pretty large airport with three massive terminals, and it DOES matter where you go through security so you can get to the right gate.
If you often travel with budget airlines to get to and from where you’re traveling, including at MCO, then there’s a change coming you need to know about ASAP, because soon, you’ll be heading to a DIFFERENT terminal to fly!
Fox 35 has reported that travelers who find themselves flying with Virgin Atlantic often will need to prepare for a change coming to MCO Airport. Beginning June 30th, all departures and arrivals from Virgin Atlantic will now be located in Terminal C instead of Terminal A.
This move is partly due to the expansion of Terminal C, which has just recently added four new gates to accommodate both narrow-body and wide body aircrafts. Additionally, most international flights come in and out of Terminal C, and Virgin Atlantic has been an outlier since Terminal C opened in 2022. This move is also to help balance out passenger load between the three airport terminals.
Currently, Virgin Atlantic offers daily, nonstop flights between Orlando and London Heathrow and Manchester, with additional flights often added during busy travel times, such as seasonal travel to and from Edinburgh, Scotland. Don’t forget that, if you’re traveling internationally into MCO, it’s recommended you use the free Mobile Passport Control app to reduce your customs wait times. Rental cars are available at all three terminals, but if you need to get from Terminal C to Terminals A and B, or vice versa, you’ll want to take the airport’s Terminal Link tram.
