JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KATV) — The Jacksonville North Pulaski School District said that it reported an allegation of inappropriate conduct involving a district employee and a former Jacksonville High School student to state and local authorities.
In a message sent to parents and guardians, district officials said it is not yet known whether the alleged incident occurred on or off of school property.
They did provide details about the conduct involved in the alleged incident.
According to the district, administrators immediately notified the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline and Jacksonville Police Department after receiving the report. Both agencies are conducting separate investigations.
District officials said they could not provide additional details due to the ongoing nature of the investigations and privacy laws.
School officials noted that classes are not currently in session for the summer and that the employee is not on campus.
The district said it will continue cooperating with investigators and follow all required procedures as the matter moves forward.
“The safety, well-being, and security of our scholars remain our highest priorities,” the district said in its statement.
No charges have been announced, and authorities have not released additional information about the allegation.
