The Jacksonville Police Department has arrested a third suspect in connection to the fatal shooting of a child that happened in mid-May.
JACKSONVILLE, Ark. — The Jacksonville Police Department has now arrested a third suspect in connection to the fatal shooting of a child that happened in mid-May.
According to reports, at about 10:20 a.m. on June 16, 2026, U.S. Marshals took Rayshaun Pitts into custody for his involvement in the deadly shooting of a 6-year-old child that happened in May.

On May 17, 2026, at about 7:30 p.m., officers were called with reports of shots that had been fired in the 4000 block of South Highway 161.
While they were on the way, officers got word that one person had been shot in connection to the incident.
Once they arrived, they found a 6-year-old boy in a vehicle who had reportedly been shot multiple times. Police say that two adults were also in the vehicle with the boy, but they were not injured.
Officers immediately began to help the boy, and he was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Pitts was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals after he was found and arrested in St. Paul, Minnesota.
He is now the third suspect to be arrested in connection to this incident; both Artavius Johnson of Little Rock and Treyveon Stubblefield of North Little Rock had been previously arrested.
