June 17, 2026 – The University of South Florida Board of Trustees unanimously elected Mike Griffin as chair for a two-year term Wednesday, making the USF alumnus and former student body president the first person to hold both leadership roles. Griffin, a vice chairman at Savills who previously chaired the university’s presidential search committees, succeeds Will Weatherford, who stepped down as chair but remains on the board. Trustees also elected longtime business leader Oscar Horton, president and CEO of Sun State International, as vice chair.
