TAMPA, Fla. (WWSB) – A 44-year-old Tampa man has been arrested after a dog was found outside in extreme heat without food or water, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Harvey Leroy Jones faces a charge of aggravated cruelty to animals.
The dog was found suffering from extreme heat conditions and later died, deputies said.

The sheriff’s office said the case serves as a reminder that extreme heat can be deadly for pets in a matter of hours. Animals should not be left outside during hot weather without adequate shade, fresh water and supervision.
