Miami-Dade County’s Tax Collector’s Office will begin accepting applications July 1 for new License Plate Agencies (LPAs), the first opportunity to open new agencies in the county in more than two decades.
LPAs operate under agreement with the Tax Collector’s Office, handling motor vehicle registration, title and related services. The new solicitation aims to expand access as the county’s population continues to grow.
“This initiative is focused on ensuring residents have convenient access to essential motor vehicle services while maintaining the high standards of customer service, accountability, and operational excellence expected by the public,” said Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez.
Applicants must show financial capacity, operational readiness and business experience, and submit a business plan along with a geographic need statement explaining the public benefit of their proposed location. Applications go through administrative review, a Selection Committee evaluation and a mandatory interview before final recommendations reach the Tax Collector.
More information and applications are available at mdctaxcollector.gov, or by emailing LPAApplications@mdctaxcollector.gov.
