TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – There are dozens of dogs, cats, puppies, kittens – even a rabbit – awaiting adoption at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center right now, and they are all available for free this weekend during the Petco Love Florida Mega Pet Adoption Event!
“We’re going to have fee-waived adoptions on everybody,” assistant director Grayson Walters said, “because we have so many animals. We’ve got over 150 adoptable animals that are looking for homes.”
Petco Love hopes to find homes for 2,000 pets in the next three days.(City of Tallahassee)
Petco Love’s Florida Mega Pet Adoption Event is an annual statewide initiative. This year its goal is to find homes for 2,000 pets in three days. The Tallahassee Animal Service Center will be open and participating on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The three-day event – with its promise of free adoptions – makes this weekend the perfect time to consider adding a new best friend to the family.
WCTV and the Tallahassee Animal Service Center team up each week to spotlight four adoptable dogs in hopes of helping them find their fur-ever homes faster!

MEET CASIA
Apparently no one told Casia she’s not a kid anymore! She has plenty of pep in her step and lots of curiosity!(WCTV)

Casia is eight years old and has been a beloved pet until she wound up here at the shelter. Her owner was experiencing some health challenges and was no longer able to care for her.
Apparently, no one told Casia she’s not a kid anymore; she has plenty of pep in her step and plenty of curiosity. She spent our walk in wide-eyed wonder at all the birds, squirrels and greenery around her.
If you can give this lovely lady a soft place to land for now and fur-ever, please visit Casia at the shelter this weekend, and you can adopt her for free!
MEET MR. HANDSOME
Mr. Handsome may also be Mr. Right. He’s available for adoption this weekend!(WCTV)

He is all that and then some.
This lover boy is active and affectionate. He is into hugs, kisses and scratches … and has a smile a mile wide!
Mr. Handsome’s owner was moving and couldn’t take him along – but as you can see he is well mannered, treat motivated, friendly and fun.
Mr. Handsome will look you right in the eye and this soul gazer may be more than Mr. Handsome, he may actually be Mr. Right for you and your family!

MEET FRANK
Frank – with his classic boxer face – can look serious with a wrinkled brow or break into a big grin at a moment’s notice!(WCTV)

This fine fella is a boxer, treeing walker coon hound mix, and he is 100% adorable. Especially when he’s got just one ear up.
Frank is into people and into treats.
His tail wags at warp speed and he will shower you with hugs and kisses!
Frank enjoys long walks and likes to pause just long enough to soak in all the sights, sounds and especially the smells along the way!

MEET AND GREET
You can meet these dogs and dozens more awaiting adoption at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center. It’s located across from Tom Brown Park at 1125 Easterwood Drive in Tallahassee.
You can walk through the kennels Tuesday through Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and can also visit by appointment the rest of the week from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
