A suspected narcotics call ended in the Key Biscayne Police Department having to contact U.S. Customs and Border Protection. 

The department also responded to a variety of traffic calls, noise ordinance complaints, and missing items.

Police conducted a traffic stop for a tag violation at the 400 block of Crandon Blvd. Officers contacted the driver and issued a citation.

Officers issued a civil citation for an improper left turn at Crandon Blvd. & E. Enid Dr.

Units responded to the 70 block of Harbor Dr. regarding a vehicle parked in a handicap parking spot only. On arrival, the vehicle was not present.

KBPD officers were dispatched to a business alarm at the 200 block of Crandon Blvd. On arrival, officers learned the activation was accidental and all appeared secure.

Police completed a traffic stop for a moving violation at the 400 block of Crandon Blvd. Officers spoke with the driver and issued a citation.

Officers were contacted from the 200 block of Crandon Blvd. regarding a possible stolen firearm. The complainant told police he had been in Key Biscayne the prior day and had moved his firearm in and out of his vehicle a few times. On this date, he could not locate his firearm. KBPD units were dispatched to the 700 block of Curtiswood Dr. regarding a loud music complaint. Officers contacted the homeowner and advised them of the call. The music was turned off.

The complainant contacted police from the 100 block of Ocean Lane Dr. about their missing wallet. The complainant advised they had received an alert that the wallet could be in the City of Coral Gables. The complainant was advised to contact Coral Gables police. KB-26-0557.

June 9, 2026

While on patrol overnight, officers issued a parking citation to a vehicle obstructing the flow of traffic at the 400 block of Ridgewood Rd.

Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Crandon Blvd. regarding a minor traffic crash, with no injuries. Officers contacted the parties involved and completed a traffic crash report. KB-26-0559.

The complainant contacted police from the 200 block of Galen Dr. regarding unwanted and repeated messages they had received from someone they used to date. Officers documented the concern and the complainant blocked the number. KB-25-0560.

Officers were contacted regarding a minor traffic crash that had occurred earlier in the day around the 50 block of Harbor Dr. Officers completed a traffic crash report and provided a case number. KB-26-0561.

KBPD officers were contacted from the 80 block of W. McIntyre St. regarding a found credit card. The card was placed into evidence. KB-26-0562.

June 10, 2026

Officers at Ocean Drive & E. Enid Dr. issued a parking citation to a vehicle parked in a handicap parking space with no placard displayed.

KBPD worked in collaboration with MDSO on bicycle education and enforcement at the 6000 block of Crandon Blvd. KBPD issued four (4) citations.

Police completed a report to document a damaged water valve at the 90 block of Harbor Dr. KB-26-0563.

KBPD officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Grapetree Dr. regarding a suspicious package found on the shoreline. The package appeared to be suspected narcotics. Officers contacted US Customs and Border Protection. The package was taken into possession by an agent. KB-26-0564.

Units completed a traffic stop of a golf cart at the 500 block of Fernwood Rd. Officers issued two (2) citations for safety belt violations.

The victim contacted police from the 1100 block of Crandon Blvd. to advise them their financial institution had contacted them regarding three forged checks. The bank has taken security measures to avoid fraud in the future. A police report was requested and completed. KB-26-0565.

Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Crandon Blvd. regarding vandalism to a vehicle. Police contacted management who advised a female had slashed the victims’ tires. Officers documented the incident. Detectives will conduct a follow-up investigation. KB-26-0567.

KBPD units were dispatched to a party at the Beach Park. Officers encountered a DJ and several teenagers. The gathering was shut down and parents were contacted. Officers issued several trespass warnings. None of the juveniles resided in Key Biscayne. KB-25-0568.

June 11, 2026

Police responded to the 200 block of W. Mashta Dr. regarding a loud noise complaint. On arrival, officers did not hear any excess noise. Officers did advise the homeowner of the call.

Case pulled in error. KB-25-0569.

While on patrol, officers at the 50 block of Harbor Dr. contacted a suspicious male. Officers completed a records check and the male left without further incident.

A case number was generated to document a minor accident involving a KBPD Marked unit. KB-25-0570.

Police issued a parking citation to a vehicle with an expired tag at the 100 block of Grapetree Dr.

The complainant contacted police from the 100 block of Crandon Blvd. and requested a fraud report. Officers documented their concerns and issued a case card. KB-26-0571.

Police were contacted regarding juveniles knocking on the door of a residence at the 700 block of Woodcrest Rd. and running away. Officers spoke with the complainant, who declined a police report. Officers circulated the area but were unable to locate anyone.

While working an off-duty job, officers observed a vehicle committing a traffic infraction at the 90 block of Harbor Dr. The driver was stopped and issued two (2) citations.

June 12, 2026

Units were dispatched to a customer dispute at the 50 block of Harbor Dr. Officers contacted the store clerk who told police he wanted customers to leave the store. The customers paid for their items and left without further issue.

Officers were dispatched to a residential alarm at the 300 block of Palmwood Ln. Officers contacted the homeowner, who told police the activation was accidental. All appeared secure.

Police were dispatched to the 100 block of E. Enid Dr. regarding a suspicious vehicle. Officers circulated the area and did not locate any suspicious vehicles.

While on patrol around the 400 block of Grapetree Dr., officers were approached regarding a vehicle parked in the same location for months. Officers observed the vehicle had previously been cited. Officers had the vehicle towed from the location. KB-26-0572.

Units completed a report documenting minor damage to a KBPD marked patrol vehicle on Dolphin Expressway. KB-26-0573.

Officers were dispatched to the Farmer’s Market for vehicles obstructing traffic. Officers issued three (3) citations.

Units were dispatched to the 300 block of Crandon Blvd. regarding a minor accident with no injuries. Officers contacted the parties involved and completed a traffic crash report. KB-26-0574.

KBPD officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle for driving around traffic cones at the 1200 block of Crandon Blvd. Officers spoke with the driver and issued a citation.

June 14, 2026

Officers stopped a vehicle for an expired tag at Crandon Blvd. & Grand Bay Dr. The driver was contacted and issued a citation.

Units towed a golf cart from the 200 block of Seaview Dr. due to parking violations. KB-26-0575.

KBPD officers were dispatched to a business alarm at the 300 block of Crandon Blvd. Officers contacted the manager on scene. All appeared secure.

Police conducted a traffic stop at Crandon Blvd. & Galen Dr. Officers contacted the driver and completed a records check. The check revealed a suspended driver’s license. Officers issued a citation.

Officers completed a traffic stop for a tint violation at the 4000 block of Crandon Blvd. Officers contacted the driver and completed a records check. The check revealed the driver had a suspended driver’s license with knowledge and an active arrest warrant. The driver was taken into custody and transported to TGK Jail for booking. KB-26-0576.

While on patrol, officers located two juveniles fishing from Mashta Bridge. Officers contacted the juveniles and advised them of the ordinance. The juveniles left without further incident.
