WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — 15 beagles rescued from a Wisconsin breeding and research facility took another step toward a forever home with a rescue flight bound for New York.
Pilots coordinated the transport mission in coordination with Pilots To The Rescue. This nonprofit flies at-risk animals from overcrowded shelters and rescue groups to areas where they have a better chance of adoption.
The dogs originated from Ridglan Farms, a Wisconsin facility that has been at the center of a large-scale effort to relocate thousands of beagles into homes and rescue organizations across the country.
Friday’s flight was conducted in partnership with Big Dog Ranch Rescue in Loxahatchee Groves and Second Chance Rescue NYC. Once in New York, the beagles will receive care and be matched with adoptive families.

Organizers said the mission marks Pilots To The Rescue‘s second transport involving beagles from the Wisconsin facility.
The nonprofit’s volunteer pilots use donated aircraft and flight time to move animals to rescue and adoption centers, helping reduce overcrowding and increase adoption opportunities.
The beagles departed from Palm Beach International Airport Friday morning, where rescue groups and volunteers worked together to safely load the dogs onto the aircraft before takeoff.
Big Dog Ranch Rescue has played a major role in the nationwide effort to save and rehome beagles released from the facility, helping hundreds of dogs begin new lives with adoptive families.
Photos and video from the rescue mission were expected to be released following the flight.
