Four years ago, the Collins family packed up their lives and moved to Ponte Vedra with a dream: to build something special for their new community. That dream became World’s Greatest Heating and Air, a family-owned and -operated HVAC company dedicated to keeping local families comfortable while doing business the right way.
Owners Crissy and Zach Collins brought nearly three decades of industry experience with them when they launched the company. Their daughter, Eden, has been part of the journey from the very beginning and remains the inspiration behind everything they do. Today, World’s Greatest Heating and Air has grown into one of the area’s most trusted HVAC providers, serving homeowners throughout St. Johns, Duval and Clay counties.
While the company handles everything from air conditioning repairs and system replacements to indoor air quality solutions, duct cleaning and duct sealing, Crissy Collins says their mission goes beyond heating and cooling.
“We believe homeowners deserve honest information and options,” she said. “That’s why we encourage people to get multiple estimates before making a major HVAC decision. An informed homeowner is our favorite kind of client.”
That client-first approach has helped the company earn a loyal following throughout Northeast Florida. You may have even spotted their signature purple service vans around town — a color chosen by Eden herself, making the fleet a reflection of the family’s personality and spirit.
This summer, one van will be carrying an even bigger message. World’s Greatest Heating and Air is adding a gold-to-purple design to its fleet to help raise awareness for childhood cancer. As part of the initiative, the company will donate a portion of its proceeds to support local children and families battling cancer.
They enjoy taking their snow cone truck along with their 20-foot alien mascot to schools, churches and community events with no charge to the event or attendees. World’s Greatest Heating and Air wants to be known for showing up when someone needs them most. They are happy to help, whether it’s a new HVAC filter, a free snow cone or just a neighbor who needs an extra hand.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the community that has supported us,” Crissy Collins said. “Giving back is important to our family, and we want to use our business to make a difference and honor God’s calling for our lives.”
World’s Greatest Heating and Air also offers a unique paid apprenticeship for Women of HVAC.
“At World’s Greatest Heating and Air, we have always believed in creating opportunities for women to excel in traditionally male-dominated fields,” Crissy Collins said.
The Women of HVAC program provides women with a path to learn a skilled trade and opens doors for them to further their careers. The program is about more than learning a trade. It is about breaking barriers and building a community of empowered women. The apprenticeship is led by expert leadership and provides technical training, hands-on experience and a 12-week paid internship.
Whether responding to a late-night AC emergency, helping improve indoor air quality, or supporting local causes, World’s Greatest Heating and Air remains committed to its core values: family, honesty, service and community.
