Funeral services announced for Tallahassee native killed in Missouri skydiving plane crash

  • June 22, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Funeral plans have been announced for the Tallahassee native who was among 11 skydivers and a pilot who were killed in a Missouri plane crash last week.

25-year-old Blake Thacker was on the plane to complete his certification to become a skydiving coach, per previous reporting. He graduated from Chiles High School in 2019 and also attended the University of Florida.

“Those who knew Blake remember him as intelligent, funny, kind-hearted, and deeply caring. Skydiving gave him courage, confidence, and a profound sense of purpose. He often spoke about the joy it brought him and encouraged others who were interested to experience it for themselves,” the funeral announcement said.

His funeral is set for 11 a.m. July 3 at East Hill Baptist Church in Tallahassee. A reception will follow the funeral services.
